GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 95768
Trash Icon issues
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
I'm pretty sure I've seen something simmilar to this bug report, but I can't find it anymore. So just to be sure it's filed: There are quite some issues with the Trash icon on the desktop: I can't... 1) ... rename it 2) ... delete it 3) ... disable trash completly 4) ... drag/drop it to a panel without loosing it's function. In fact when i drag Trash to a panel the dialog for a new launcher appears. Seem like a separate bug to me. Besides these issues I would love to be able to store Trash somewhere else. The 'Actions' menu seems appropriate to me, cause typical file actions like 'search', 'open recent' etc are also stored there. A Trash menu would fit. An option to browse your Trash (like with the 'recent open' menu) and an 'empty trash' button would be nice. Just some thoughts... Great job so far, btw... Thanks. Jörgen
This hasn't been touched for a little while... Can a Nautilus maintainer comment on this?
Another thing I'd like to see fixed: I can't change the icon for the trashcan. I'd like to replace it with an icon of my own choice.
Almost all these issues have been fixed during the Nautilus 2.1/2.3 process. Jörgen: 1) gconf: /apps/nautilus/desktop/trash_icon_name 2) gconf: /apps/nautilus/desktop/trash_icon_visible 3) gconf: /apps/nautilus/preferences/enable_delete 4) Doesn't work at all (please file a new bug if you want it) Action menu thingie: New bug report, too, please. Kees: You might want to use another icon theme. Closing for now. regs, Chris
4. See bug 130620 Action menu thingy: some other time maybe :) Thanks. Jörgen
