gnome-panel crashes on logon

Package: gnome-panel Severity: normal Version: 2.0.6 Synopsis: gnome-panel crashes on logon Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel Bugzilla-Component: Panel BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.0.3) Description: Description of Problem: After moving the main panel to the left edge, gnome-panel crashes on subsequent log ons Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a new user. 2. Log in as this new user. 3. Move the panel to the left edge (panel is now vertical on the left side of the desktop). 4. Right click on the clock and remove it from the panel. 5. Log out. 6. Log back in. Actual Results: After logging back in, gnome-panel crashes over and over again. The X session is unusable and user must choose a different window manager. Expected Results: No crash. How often does this happen? I can reproduce the behavior with the above steps every time. Additional Information: Dell Optiplex GX110 512MB RAM i810 graphics chip w/ 16MB reserved Stock Red Hat 8.0 installed with Workstation option Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gnome-panel' (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)...[New Thread 8192 (LWP 953)] 0x420ae169 in wait4 () from /lib/i686/libc.so.6
