GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 94359
There is no initial visible focus when you key nav around Gnome
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
On the multihead branch: Ctrl+F10 in either the side pane or main pane does not bring up the background menu. Instead it gives focus to toolbar handle.
Assuming John means Shift+F10 here... that's the standard 'popup menu' shortcut. Ctrl+F10 does indeed give focus to bonobo toolbars... I wish it didn't though because that's not how we want it to work for gtk toolbars :/
I am only partly confused ! There are two bugs here. Yes, I should have said Shift+F10 does not work in the side pane. This is a regression In the main pane, Shift+F10 correctly brings up the icon popup. But I would expect that Ctrl+F10 should work and bring up the main pane popup: the one that starts with "New Window". Ctrl+F10 on the desktop itself brings up this menu, so I would expect it to work equivalently in the main pane.
Right... both of these are indeed legitimate bugs (although the second is more of an RFE I suppose...)
Ctrl+F10 gives focus to the bonobo toolbars. When the toolbars are not present the Ctrl+F10 brings up the main- pane-popup. So I think this should mostly be a bug against bonobo. Shift+F10 works for me.
Shift+F10 works and there is a sparate bug #94856 for Ctrl+F10
Shift+F10 still doesn't work in the sidepane for us here at Sun, but since the community toolbar has been re-written we'll track this one internally now (bugtraq no.4765839).
