GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 93797
Maximize/unmaximize window on double-click on titlebar
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Metacity copies Windows' (evil) button order that makes the maximize/unmaximize button dangerous (read: slow) to use, but fails to copy Windows' workaround which obsoletes that button -- making Metacity less usable (read: slow) than Windows' wm decorations in this respect. Metacity should copy Windows appearance/behaviour properly where it does; here (default to) maximizing/unmaximizing window on double click in title bar instead of current shade/unshade. related: * bug 93672 - pref for same * bug 92617 - shading/unshading should happen with scroll wheel (I agree with this, it is very intuitive, and does not collide with any expected or necessary behaviour) (metacity deb 2.4.1-1)
Tuukka: it makes more sense to add a comment to an existing bug report than to open a new one. Also, many many thanks for your duplicate finding :) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 90418 ***
*shrug* Well this made sense in the issue tracking sense, as this I consider a bug to fix the default behaviour set to be more consistent, not an rfe to add a pref ... anyway, whatever gets stuff done best, wfm :) v, fwiw.
