Description mlmoser 2002-09-07 14:13:54 UTC
As that guy hosting the Gimp Win32 web site said, Vector-based layers would
be extremely useful. I have a hard time lining a sketch with the pen tool
or an eraser at 1x1 with hard edge and anti-erase, even with my optical
mouse. It would be nice to have vector-based layers, so that I could plop
down bezier curves, and then translate them to pixel layers.

suggestion: display all vector-based data as translated to pixels, until
altering it. Makes it easier to see how the feather selection tool will
work when sampling merged.

Need a way to work the Bezier curve concept without using selection as a
guide line for the pen (weak walls make feather tool select everything,
strengthening them with the pen tool makes "blobs" on the line).

THERE ARE NO FREE VECTOR PROGS THAT I CAN FIND FOR WINDOWS O_O (just a thought)

This has already been proposed in the very old bug #6893 (submitted in
March 2000). Now the only thing that we need is a volunteer who writes
the code and submits the patches for implementing this nice feature...
