Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: nautilus Severity: normal Version: 2.0.3 Synopsis: Nautilus forgets icons posititions Bugzilla-Product: nautilus Bugzilla-Component: Desktop Description: Description of Problem: The positiion of the icons on the desktop are not saved. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Place your icons on the desktop (in my case, the Home icon is in the lower left corner and the trash icon is in the lower right corner) 2. Shutdown GNOME and X 3. Start X again Actual Results: All icons are placed in the upper left corner, one above the other. Expected Results: All posititions should be saved. How often does this happen? Always. Additional Information: Window manager is metacity. There is a panel in the bottom with applets and a second panel in the left holding launchers (my setup looks a lot like the first screenshot in the GNOME 2.0 Screenshots page). -- ... Change the "How often does this happen?" option from "Always" to "Sometimes". For some weird reason, after sending the bug report and restarting X (leave X, call X again), all icons where in their positions. But, just after that, I restarted X again and the problem showed up again.
We think this is now fixed in CVS. Please let us know if you can still see it in the next release of nautilus. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 89124 ***
