Description Alex 2002-08-12 08:31:40 UTC
Package: gnome-terminal
Severity: normal
Version: 2.0.1
Synopsis: Gnome-terminal crahses
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-terminal
Bugzilla-Component: general
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.0.1)

Description:
Description of Problem:

Gnome-terminal is proving to be unstable. The problems seem to occur as
the result of adding a new tab to a dsiplay (often after another window
has a tab closed).

Steps to reproduce the problem:

I have as yet been unable to find a sure fire repodcution method.
However the crahses do seem to be tab manipulation related.

How often does this happen?

I'm getting crashes every day with moderate terminal use.

Additional Information:

Mandrake Cooker distribution

Debugging Information:

Backtrace was generated from '/usr//bin/gnome-terminal'

Comment 1 Luis Villa 2002-08-12 20:18:31 UTC
Fredric: are you using the i18n branch of zvt in your cooker builds or
is this stock zvt?
Comment 2 Alex 2002-08-13 07:20:23 UTC
Opening a window and then clicking on the close widget causes the
crash. I'm opening the window with the following gnome-launcher:

bash
Comment 3 Frederic Crozat 2002-08-13 07:51:11 UTC
We are using the i18n branch but this crash was corrected with the
latest version of the branch..

Reporter, try upgrading libzvt2.0_0 to 2.0.1-4mdk and please, use
cooker mailing list instead of reporting bugs directly on this bugzilla..
Comment 4 Alex 2002-08-14 10:07:27 UTC
It was a library clash not flagged by the RPM dependancies. Perhaps
Cooker versions of bug-buddy could be set to report to Mandrake
instead of gnome bugzilla?
