GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 90462
change "command:" to "directory:" when choose "Directory" type in create launcher dialog
Last modified: 2005-08-15 01:35:43 UTC
built with vbs, 2002-08-09 just as change to "URL:" when user choose "Link" type.
Probably not quite an easy-fix but borderline.
Created attachment 11504 [details] [review] Nothing to say :)
In fact, we should do it for every type, but the naming convention should be proposed by the usability team I think. Between, this bug should be assigned to the product 'gnome-desktop'.
hold on 1. the word directory should not appear in the ui anywhere, we use folder in gnome. 2. I still think we need to divide this dialog into two smaller dialogs, create link, create app launcher, its way to crack ridden. 3. moving to the gnome-desktop component.
The patch should use the term folder then.
When does "Directory" appear in the list of options?
Kjartan: It's in the "Type:" drop-down list/box/thingy. Adding the PATCH keyword.
I don't see it when right-clicking on an icon on my panel and selecting properties at least. Is this being removed by Fedora/Red Hat?
In fact, it seems to only be available with the "create launcher" context menuitem of the desktop/nautilus. I don't understand how does work or how useful is this option in fact, may be it could be removed ?
Yeah, the Direcory type isn't very useful in this dialog and should be removed. Marking as a dup of bug #95331 which discusses re-working this dialog substantially *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 95331 ***
