Description Balamurali Viswanathan 2002-07-30 12:26:00 UTC
When right click on the panel and add mixer applet, I am getting
the following similar dialog box

There was a error loading applet OAIFD:GNOME_GeyesApplet
Failed to Execute geyes-applet2 (No such file or directory)

The mixer applet is present in the /opt/gnome-2.0/lib directory.
If I include the above path in the /etc/dt/config/Xintrc.gnome file
then the applets are coming up fine. But adding the path in the above
file defeats the whole purpose of moving the applets to the
/opt/gnome-2.0/lib directory

This is not only for mixer applets this is for almost for all applets.

More findings:

This happens on Linux too (RH 7.3, running 29th July sources).

The only applets for which the error message *doesn't* appear are:
1) Clock
2) Inbox Monitor
3) Workspace Switcher

All the rest applets fail with the same error.

And what are the binary names in the packages? i.e., is geyes-applet2
in the path and installed? I'm guessing that this is a problem with
the rename Sun is doing in their packages, not with anything GNOME is
doing. So I'm tempted to mark this NOTGNOME, but I'll mark it NEEDINFO
instead for right now. Please let us know what the situation is, Anand.

Seems to be a build issue, will talk with our Sysadmin and
close the bug, once the issue is sorted out. Thanks

The local build issue was rectified and hence closing it as not a bug.
server.in files were moved to server.in.in files, since the server.in
files were not removed in the local repository so we had the problem.
