GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 88964
Pointer should reflect toolsize (brush cursors showing brush size) (bug 32498 comment)
Last modified: 2003-01-01 13:24:58 UTC
This is additional comment for bug 32498. I just thought about this, and I think I found a way implementing this feature (but I don't know much about coding, so maybe it's stupid...;) What about not using a pointer to reflect the brush - size, but using a floating selection that reflects the size and shape of the brush, center it on the cursor, and move it with the cursor. It should of course not appear in the layer window. The selection would, as far as I understand, zoomed when the picture itself would be zoomed, and would always reflect the size and shape of the brush, and the feature would be independent of the X-Server. Hope this helps a little, this really is the only feature I miss using the Gimp.

Created attachment 13298 [details] Is anyone working on cursor size vs tool size issue?
I'm not aware of anyone working on this. BTW: You could simply have used the file ps-menurc which provides Photoshop keybindings for The GIMP instead of reassigning the keys manually. I'm not sure however if this file is uptodate. So perhaps you would like to compare it with the menurc you created and let us know if ps-menurc is still accurate. Please open a new bug-report for this then.
