Description Joe Drew 2002-07-23 21:26:17 UTC
pisces:~/src/gedit$ touch %file
pisces:~/src/gedit$ gedit "%file"

gedit then responds "file:///home/hosehead/src/gedit/-1.998119ile" is not a
valid location.

This semms like a printf-style string formatting error; I think that
guarding the filename by doubling the %s (or no longer running the filename
through sprintf or the like) would fix this.

Which version of gedit are you using?
This bug should be fixed in CVS HEAD.
Comment 2 Joe Drew 2002-07-23 21:46:30 UTC
2.0.0, just like the report says. I'm creating 2.0.1 packages now and
will test them once they're built.
Comment 3 Paolo Maggi 2002-07-23 21:55:10 UTC
gedit 2.0.1 is broken too.
I fixed this bug today in CVS HEAD.
So compile it from CVS or wait for gedit 2.0.2
