Description pauljohn 2002-06-29 04:12:50 UTC
1. Select articles with shift key and arrow key or with page up/down. The
selection is erased every time you lift the arrow key, so there is no way
to cumulatively select big blocks of articles.

2. When I save binary attachments, pan no longer reliably shows the little
disk to indicate that the file is saved. The article headers turn light
gray, but sometimes there are no icons by the files, sometimes there are
the round disks indicating the bodies have been downloaded and not saved.

Good luck! Thanks for Pan, it is about the best program for anything I have
found in linux/unix.

1. I can't reproduce that specific problem (although there are some
issues with the articlelist, see bug #83973). Are you sure you have
gtk2-2.0.5 ?

2. Any idea under what circumstances the icons are not there? I
recently fixed a bug that would cause this (see #85445) so I'm
wondering if you're seeing the same bug.
Comment 2 pauljohn 2002-06-30 15:33:31 UTC
Hm. You mean if you hold the shift key down and repeatedly hit the up
arrow, the article selection gets bigger and bigger?

I don't have any other apps using gtk2 in order to test if this
behavior is common across gtk2 apps.

I'm using gtk2 from the Ximian preview page. Do you know of a gtk2 RPM
I could use instead? Here is the info the Ximian one offers:

$ rpm -qi gtk2

Description :
The GIMP Toolkit is a freely available set of widgets for X.
It includes almost every kind of button, slider, and check-box
any program is likely to require.

Gtk has appeared in such projects as The GNU Image Manipulation
Program (The GIMP), GNOME, a GNU desktop set of utilities for X, and
gzilla, a GNU web-browser.

Sorry, I should have been clearer: when I try to reproduce your
problem, I actually see the behaviour in bug #83973: the list never
grows beyond two/three articles.

In any case, both bugs should be fixed when we migrate to GtkTreeView
(and in the meantime, mouse-selecting works OK), so I'm more
interested in the second bug you described. Could you check if you're
seeing the same bug, and if not, under what circumstances you're
seeing this behaviour?

pauljohn: ping?
Comment 5 pauljohn 2002-08-01 01:19:02 UTC
The icon problem seems to have been solved by your update release of 12.1.

The selection problem still exists, but I understand you have a plan
on that.
