Description Adam Ashley 2002-06-24 06:21:59 UTC
Package: gnome-core
Severity: major
Version: 1.4.1
Synopsis: Gnome Terminal can no longer execute
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-core
Bugzilla-Component: gnome-terminal

Description:
I was running gnome-core-1.4.0.8-1.ximian.2 and had a number of
launchers with commands of the following type

gnome-terminal -e "ssh -l username host"

since upgrading to gnome-core-1.4.1-1.ximian.4 all these launchers have
stopped working and are giving a 'file not found error' when the
terminal starts up.

on the odd occasion that that doesnt happen I get a message on the
console:

Error: unable to fork: Success

and a gnome window that pops up saying could not allocate tty, if you
are using linux 2.2 and glibc 2.1 it prob means unix98 ttys not
configured properly

my system is a redhat 7.2 box with all the relevant redhat updates with
ximian gnome desktop installed

It works for me if I lose the quotes. I'll see what changed in there
in the latest release.

Does it work for you if you remove the quotes?
