GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 86298
Galeon crashes at shutdown after opening saved URLs on startup.
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
I was surfing & had 3 URLs open when I quit Galeon. Now when I start it up, it loads these 3 URLs into 3 tabs on startup, as would be expected. However, every time I shut it down, whether or not I create a new tab to open more pages in, it crashes. The URLs for the 3 saved tabs are here, followed by the stack trace: http://www.student.math.uwaterloo.ca/~cs354/faq.html http://www.eros-os.org/project/novelty.html http://lse.sourceforge.net/ Stack trace: 0x4093a639 in wait4 () from /lib/libc.so.6
+ Trace 24202
I am also running Galeon 1.2.5 on Gentoo. I have been experiencing relatively frequent segfaults, but I wasn't able to narrow down the circumstances or reproduce it. I just determined at least one sequence of GUI interactions that invariably produces a segfault. When I use the window manager to close a Galeon window which has more than one tab, the confirm dialog pops up. As soon as I click "OK," a gnome dialog pops up, indicating the segfault. Closing a window which only has one tab does not seem to be a problem. I suspect the poster of this report has experienced the same behavior, though he describes a more limited set of circumstances.
