My gut guess is that this is not possible with the current gtk combobox,
however mozilla, konq and ie all do this and it looks better, perhaps we
can push gtk guys to make this possible in their newly redesigned combo
box. (of course if this is possible it would be really cool)

No cuz at the time I filed this i wasn't aware if this was possible or
not. I'm willing to file a gtk bug, but i think marco could probably
file a better bug as he has been working on code for this a little,
and most definately has a better handle on the issues involved.

marco: Will you file a bug report for gtk+? Even if it will only be
for gtk+ 2.2, it would still be nice to have native support for this
in gtk+ and being able to avoid hacks in the future.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore.

Galeon developers won't be fixing or back porting any fixes for this version. Please upgrade to latest stable Galeon version to receive bug fixes.
We are sorry it could not be fixed for your version.
