How to improve the allocation caching we do certainly
could use some investigation; you can't just 
s/mem chunks/trash stacks/ though. We usually already
have "trash stacks" in front of memchunks where its
crucial, and in other places, you'd probably just
want to s/mem chunks/malloc/.
