Create a .desktop shortcut that launches an app.
Now go to Properties from the popup menu of the icon.
There is no information about what the shortcut points to on the filesystem.

Yeah this sucks....just to let you know in the applications:// view
there is and edit launcher option in the right click menu but that
sucks too.
