Description Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2002-05-28 04:17:52 UTC
The default keybinding for "move to trash" should be delete (i figure this
is what most users use anyway) and the keybinding for "delete" should be
shift+delete, or maybe ctl+delete. Seems to make more sense.

marking this a blocker of 82707 in hope that it will get fixed while
i'm europe for the gnome 2.0.1 release.

I'd like to see this too, but have a vague recollection of some
Eazelites objecting last time it was suggested-- anyone remember the
reason, if indeed I'm not just hallucinating?

I'm unaware of any reason not to use these keybindings. These are same
keybindings use in konqueror. (perhaps their decision was based on the
mac, just a guess since i don't know what keybindings are used for
move to trash in finder). I'll venture to guess that no one use ctrl+t
for move to trash. most users will probably use the delete key as this
is well, intuitive. One nicety of fixing this is that the delete key
will work on the desktop if this is fixed (see bug 78120).
