is this everytime?
Fixed by using the correct (1.48) version of docbook-style-xsl. Maybe it shouldn't crash anyway?

hmm .. how did you get yelp to use other stylesheets? did you hack yelp-customization.xsl manually? and if so, which version of the stylesheets where you using?
I just downgraded my installed version. I was using 1.50 at the time I think.
strange, that means it should have gotten 1.48 from the net.
By magically using my cellphone or running to the nearest internet café? I hope there's code to handle the non-connected case too here :)
