This is almost certainly an oft reported bug, caused by gtk. It should be fixed when gtk 2.0.3 is released (which should be very soon). The trace is not helpful. I'm going to close this with the suggestion to upgrade to gtk+ 2.0.3 when released. If you still see this problem, then please reopen.
In addition to trying gtk 2.0.3 (or higher) as Kevin suggested, we've found several more reports similar to yours and haven't been able to track it down for sure. Luis asked me to ask which distribution all the people getting these bugs were using (or, if compiling yourself, what compiler version and options). Could you please go to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100272 and mention that you were the reporter of bug 82948, and then tell us the distribution/compiler information? Thanks.
