Description Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2002-05-18 15:34:00 UTC
There used to be a favorites folder, but the uri no longer seems to work.
This should be readded to gnomevfs so that nautilus can use it to implement
macos style favorites and eliminate bookmarks which make no sense in a file
manager.

Figured this one out. The favorites uri is defined in
modules/desktop-method.c as pointing to the directory .gnome/apps.
However on clean gnome installs (no gnome 1.4) this directory will
never exist as I believe the panel use to create it. So opening
favorites doesn't work. To make this work gnome-vfs should have this
folder (.gnome/apps) created whenever gnome is first used in a users
directory. Can anyone tell me how to do this. Also perhaps we should
change the directory to .gnome/favorites since backwards compatibility
is not an issue really here, since old gnome favorites have nothing to
do with the favorites i wish to provide in nautilus.
