Description Mikael Hallendal 2002-05-18 11:21:08 UTC
If I try to copy some text from a gnome-terminal where едц (Swedish
characters) are included it doesn't get copied.
Comment 1 Mikael Hallendal 2002-05-18 11:21:50 UTC
to clearify myself, this is when selecting text and then trying to
paste it by middle-clicking.
Comment 2 Luis Villa 2002-05-21 03:34:28 UTC
Is this related to bug 80191 or bug 79852, by any chance? Should it be
moved to zvt, Havoc?
Comment 3 Luis Villa 2002-08-15 01:30:44 UTC
Mikael, Richard, Hidetoshi: Ping? is this part of/resolved by 78007?
Comment 4 Richard Hult 2002-08-15 07:13:27 UTC
It doesn't have anything to do with 78007 afaics. But it appears to
work now. Micke, can you confirm?
Comment 5 Richard Hult 2002-08-15 08:17:39 UTC
Sorry, don't pay any attention to me. I was confused (I'm using vte now).
Comment 6 Mikael Hallendal 2002-08-15 08:44:50 UTC
It was still a problem yesterday (though the build was somewhat older).

I'll try to get around testing with libzvt (using vte now aswell).
Comment 7 Hidetoshi Tajima 2002-08-15 16:33:51 UTC
It should work on most of locales but may not
work on "C" locale. Please try this in iso8859-1 encoded locale.

Comment 8 Mikael Hallendal 2002-08-15 18:58:55 UTC
I always run in that locale
Comment 9 Hidetoshi Tajima 2002-08-16 18:55:08 UTC
I can cut and paste едц from here in Mozilla to gnome-terminal(with
libzvt-i18n) running in
"en_US" locale.

They can be even pasted to gnome-terminal in "ja"
locale, this case you will see it be pasted with
wide characters - 0x8faba9 0x8faba3 0x8fabd3 in
EUC-JP encoding, thanks to "eucJp" <-> "UTF-8"
code conversion.

In "C" locale, I get three "?" instead, but this is expected
behaviour, as the "646" <-> "UTF-8"
code conversion is used in that locale and it supports ASCII
(0x20-0x7f) characters only.
Comment 10 Mikael Hallendal 2002-08-16 22:13:15 UTC
the problem is copying _from_ the gnome-terminal. Haven't tried to.
Comment 11 Hidetoshi Tajima 2002-08-19 16:11:45 UTC
It works for me from gnome-terminal to any apps
(even to itself.)
Comment 12 Hidetoshi Tajima 2002-10-11 05:28:12 UTC
I recently fixed a drag&drop bug with i18n text (bug 95230).
I wonder this bug may be also fixed with the same change.
Micke, can you please try again?
