Description Akira TAGOH 2002-05-10 20:44:22 UTC
Right now I'm set ja_JP.eucJP to LANG, and runs G2. but any applets can't
use XIM. If I add setlocale(LC_ALL, NULL) to an applet, it works. or when I
once kill bonobo-activation-server and add some applets to the panel, it
also works. so I think bonobo-activation-server has a cause of this problem.

Michael, this sounds like a fairly major problem for i18n, but maybe
I'm missing something?
Comment 2 Michael Meeks 2002-05-27 08:29:00 UTC
This is a really hard problem to solve right - given the current way
that bonobo-activation works.

It's not going to get fixed anytime soon - you cannot run a
hetrogenous language environment, with some apps in Japanese and some
in English.

Ensure that your environment is set how you want it (lang etc.) before
you log-in.
