Description Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2002-05-09 06:46:47 UTC
The equivalent of .desktop file in windows is a shortcut. I think this is a
better term and that gnome should use it instead of launcher in nautilus
and the panel
Comment 1 Christian Rose 2002-05-10 18:28:09 UTC
Perhaps this should be changed in the GNOME Glossary rather than in
the HIG?
Comment 2 Pier Luigi Fiorini 2002-05-12 15:11:24 UTC
When I think "shortcut", I mean keyboard shortcuts.
Comment 3 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2002-05-13 04:19:58 UTC
ok i read the style guide. I was unaware that the style guide
recommended shortcut for keyboard shortcuts at the time that i filed
this bug.

I'm going to mark won't fix based on this. However i do think the
generic term launcher is bad, since launchers can be links,
application launchers, other stuff too...</sigh>...perhaps the create
launcher dialog needs to be divided up more, so that the term launcher
is only used for application launchers and not for links etc.
