Package: gnome-panel Severity: normal Version: 1.4.0.6 Synopsis: panel crashes automatically on startup Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel Bugzilla-Component: Panel Description: I was playing with java3d and had to kill my X session and restart the machine by logging in remotely. When I started GNOME/Nautilus back up again with startx, the panel would crash about 5 seconds after appearing, then restart, then crash etc. Did doorman-reset to try to turn off Nautilus, but Nautilus still loads even though I tell it not to. Debugging Information: (no debugging symbols found)...0x405b1319 in __wait4 () from /lib/libc.so.6

Could you try gnome-libs-1.4.1.6 and gnome-core-1.4.0.8 or newer? RPMs are available at http://www.gnome.org/~kmaraas if you can make use of those.
Any luck with later releases?
