GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 80853
Annoying behaviour when mbox offline
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gnome-applets Severity: minor Version: 1.100.0 Synopsis: Annoying behaviour when mbox offline Bugzilla-Product: gnome-applets Bugzilla-Component: mailcheck Description: Description of Problem: When mbox is offline and 'check email every...' is activated a dialog box is shown that email checking is disabled for now. IMHO it should only display a dialog box that the mbox is offline, if even that. It should NOT disable the email checking as pop3 mboxes might be offline quite often (at least my ISP's :o). Now you have to manually activate the checking every time it has been deactivated. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Preferences: Activate 'check mail for every...' check box 2. Wait for your mbox to be offline How often does this happen? Always when my mbox is offline and the applet checks for mail ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2002-05-05 10:24 ------- Reassigning to the default owner of the component, gnome-applets-maint@bugzilla.gnome.org.
My IMAP mailbox falls out every now and then, and not being able to turn this behaviour off is highly annoying.
This sounds like its really annoying. Upping severity.
