2 different ways to crash gnome-terminal 1.9.4

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. open a new gnome-terminal window; set current profile to
'transparent
background'
2. add a single tab
3. remove the new tab
<crash>

1. as above.
2. add two new tabs
3. remove the most recent tab
4. resize the window
<crash>

How often does this happen?
every time

compiled on RH7.2; background is 300kb jpeg image
