En gnome-shell 3.28 el formato de fecha mostrado en el panel superior era: 
vie, 21 de sep, 00:00

en la version 3.30 se muestra:
vie sep 21 00:00

Mi sistema (Debian testing) tiene PO-Revision-Date: 2018-07-27 13:15+0200
y estoy usando es_CL como locale del sistema.

Previamente reporte acá [1] y me dirigieron a este sitio

This problem has been fixed in the unstable development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain that newer version.
