Description Oliver Propst 2018-06-10 09:59:36 UTC
When I try to use my GitLab account to login into our GitLab instace
I get the following error message,

"Could not authenticate you from GitLab because "Api v3 is no longer supported. use api v4 instead.: {"error":"api v3 is no longer supported. use api v4 instead."}"

Setps to *reproduce.
Visit https://gitlab.gnome.org/users/sign_in

1 Fill out user account details
2 Choose "sign in with GitLab".

*a GitLab.com account is required.
Comment 1 Andrea Veri 2018-06-10 10:14:55 UTC
Can you please retry now?
Comment 2 Oliver Propst 2018-06-10 10:31:52 UTC
Hm still get same error message, will try again later (and tomorrow).
Comment 3 Oliver Propst 2018-06-10 10:35:56 UTC
Hm another message I get

"Could not authenticate you from GitLab because "Invalid grant: the provided authorization grant is invalid, expired, revoked, does not match the redirection uri used in the authorization request, or was issued to another client. {"error":"invalid grant","error description":"the provided authorization grant is invalid, expired, revoked, does not match the redirection uri used in the authorization request, or was issued to another client."}".

Another try? It'll possibly request to re-authorize the app once again on your gitlab.com account.
Comment 5 Oliver Propst 2018-06-10 19:42:49 UTC
Hm I still unfortunately still (after another try) get the same error message.
Comment 6 Andrea Veri 2018-06-11 07:47:38 UTC
Oliver, would you mind trying to login to your gitlab.com account and double check whether you accepted the GDPR disclaimer which might be locking down your account and re-try?
Comment 7 Ralph Plawetzki 2018-06-11 08:25:37 UTC
Same situation here.

I did accept the new terms from GitLab.com a while ago but double checked by logging in and visiting https://gitlab.com/-/users/terms

I also revoked access for the gnome instance of GitLab under Settings > Applications, but auth is still not possible. Error message is still the one mentioned in the description above.

Well thanks for the advice and effort Andrea. After having loged in and accepted the GDPR disclaimer I still (unfortunately) get the 'Api v3 error'.
Will continue to try to (login).

Problem should be resolved upstream, can you please confirm?
Comment 12 Oliver Propst 2018-06-13 09:00:17 UTC
Still unfortunately get same error. Will try again later *today or otherwise report when I successfully can login.
Comment 13 Ralph Plawetzki 2018-06-13 11:34:45 UTC
