GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 79626
Opening a link in a new tabs is very slow when many tabs are open
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: galeon Severity: normal Version: 1.2.1 Synopsis: Opening a link in a new tabs is very slow when many tabs are open Bugzilla-Product: galeon Bugzilla-Component: User interface Description: Description of Problem: When a number of tabs (6 or more) are already open in one Galeon window, opening a link in a new tab can sometimes take as long as 20 seconds with CPU at 100%. Closing tabs seems to take about 10-15 seconds as well. Interestingly, if the new tab that is opened is at the end of the tab list, it seems to open much faster, so it may only occur when "insert new tab after current tabs" is enabled. Note that I have only noticed this since Galeon 1.2.0. Previous versions seemed to open new links in a tab very quickly. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: Expected Results: How often does this happen? Additional Information: ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2002-04-23 11:42 ------- Unknown version 1.2.x in product galeon. I'd like to second this. Also, switching to a different tab is very slow when many tabs are open. On my Celeron 500, this makes Galeon quite unuseable when many tabs are open.
