Description StigtriX 2018-05-16 17:12:46 UTC
At my workplace I rely on files on server HDDs. I have not had problems before, but with GIMP 2.10.0 I cannot access anything at all from them. They show up as empty folders when I click on them.

I have tried to uninstall GIMP and shred files, then reinstall, but I have had no success. Tried an older GIMP version, and it works.

TL;DR: Why can't I access files from server HDDs with the newest GIMP version?

Is it really the newest installer version (check the actual file)? Have a look at bug 795855, please - if this one matches your experience, then the current installer fixes that issue.

Yes, I reinstalled yesterday : /

We actually updated the website yesterday (though the new installer was finished a few days before, the website was still showing the old installer).

Could you check the name of the installer? Is it "gimp-2.10.0-setup-2.exe"? Note in particular the "-2" in the end, until yesterday, we were distributing "-1" which is broken.

If you already deleted the installer, I'd suggest to uninstall/reinstall, just in case. Because your bug description really looks like this other bug, and several people already reported it to be fixed with the new installer.
Thanks!

Yes, it was the old installer.
Everything is fine now. Thanks for the quick response! :)
Please do update the installer on the web page asap when you can <3
