Description lionel.hernou 2018-05-01 10:41:53 UTC
Hi,

I am on Arch linux, and i just installed gnome-disk-utility yesterday.
My problem is that :

first, in nautilus, after right click on an iso file -> mount, gnome ask for my password.

second, i do not see my iso mounted to the left menu of nautilus, but in "other places" I can see "CD1" in "/dev/loop"

third, when I try to open it by this way, i recieve this message :
unable to open the location
an operation is already pending

Does somebody can help me to fix that ?

Hello,

what kind of CD image do you want to mount?
Normally clicking on a mounted device in "other places" changes to it's contents. So I suppose the mounting is stalled, and clicking on it again will try to start the same mount operation which already hangs.

You can also open GNOME Disks and try to mount it there again to look for an error message…

A general hint:
If it's a regular filesystem which you want to write on, you have to mount it from within GNOME Disks, because doing it in Nautilus will just mount it read-only which might not work for NTFS (this bug is reported to them but don't think it's resolved yet).

(By the way, being asked for the password to mount the filesystem on the loop device was a UDisks regression and will be resolved in the next update.)

Regards,
Kai
