GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 795601
config import (.ovpn) file with spaces (or special characters) don't work
Last modified: 2020-11-12 14:32:38 UTC
If you try to import an .ovpn file with a space in the file name it doesn't work. For example, the cert is stored fine on the file system (with space), but when NetworkManager tries to establish the VPN connection it tries to find the file with an encoded space, %20, which obviously doesn't work... It seems the filename is URL encoded which probably shouldn't be done...
maybe this is a bug by libnma and fixed by [1] [2] [1] https://git.gnome.org/browse/network-manager-applet/commit/?id=2a65e932dbcc8add0f8006451f59004e5eeb6f09 [2] https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=793910
Not yet fixed on Fedora 28, but I guess it will be in one of the upcoming updates! Thanks! bugzilla.gnome.org is being shut down in favor of a GitLab instance. We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time. If you still use NetworkManager and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and supported version of NetworkManager, then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/issues/ Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (workforce and time is unfortunately limited).
