GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 795446
Can open up with a blank Tip of the Day
Last modified: 2018-06-30 00:08:45 UTC
Windows 10 GnuCash 3.0 Occasionally when GnuCash starts, it opens up with a blank Tip of the Day. This can be duplicated by using the Forward and Back buttons to loop around the last tip. If going forward, it shows last tip (re Douglass Adams, blank tip, then first tip (The GnuCash online manual has lots of helpful information. You can access the manual under the Help menu.). If going backward, it does the opposite when going back from the first tip. If this was done intentionally, I think it should be changed so that it goes directly from the last to first if going forward, or first to last if going backwards. There is no need to mark the end of the tips as the comments in the tips file indicate that the Douglas Adams tip should always be last. I think this problem also existed in prior 2.6 versions. Note to myself, when testing this, start the Tip of the Day window anytime by using Help, Tips of the Day.
2.6.19 on Linux does not have this problem.
I have a fix locally for this, will add to PR
This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release, 3.1. Once that release is available, you may want to check for a software upgrade provided by your Linux distribution or on our website.
