Description Terry M 2018-04-10 17:14:08 UTC
Moving to the next field, while entering transactions, isn't working. Hitting "Tab" nor "Enter" moves to the next field. Only way to get to the next field is to use the mouse or you can hit "Record the current transaction" button to move to the next line. Would be quite annoying if you have to enter several transactions.

Is the caps lock key active ?
There is another bug 795294 which mentions caps lock.
Comment 2 Terry M 2018-04-16 16:19:58 UTC
I will try that later tonight and see. But I usually have the CAPS button on.
Comment 3 Terry M 2018-04-16 19:25:51 UTC
OK, thank you very much for the CAPS lock tip. Works now!!
Comment 4 Geert Janssens 2018-04-17 06:54:43 UTC
Reopening as this is really a bug. Disactivating the caps lock key is only the workaround. Tabbing through fields should not be affected by it (it is of course affected by the shift modifier keys). This worked correctly in gnucash 2.6 and before so it's a regression. Perhaps something changed in gtk's handling of the caps lock key ?

And lastly I see this on linux as well. It's not Windows only.
Comment 5 Bob 2018-04-17 14:42:24 UTC
Did not realise this was closed, just seeing if this had the same symptoms as the other bug. Now to start looking...
Comment 6 Bob 2018-04-19 15:44:06 UTC
I think I have a fix for this and will update soon.
Comment 7 Geert Janssens 2018-04-27 10:46:09 UTC
This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release, 3.1. Once that release is available, you may want to check for a software upgrade provided by your Linux distribution or on our website.
