Description bcarr 2018-04-04 03:11:17 UTC
(trying to get the hang of how bugzilla works, sorry)

Two accounts in Assets:Banking...

Entered a withdrawal of $1.00 in one account pointing the deposit toward the other account. Went to the other account and no deposit of $1.00 was there. Tried it twice, same effect. Uninstalled v3.0 and went back to v2.6.19, tried it again and it works as expected.

I can't replicate that.

After exiting the new transaction what account is displayed in the Transfer column (basic view) or in the "other" split (split view)?

Perhaps you could attach a couple of screen shots?
Comment 2 bcarr 2018-04-04 03:34:36 UTC
Sorry, I uninstalled v3.0 already.

The correct xfer account was displayed in the Transfer column which is what surprised me that the actual transfer didn't show up in the other account. I also didn't try closing gnucash and reopening it to see if the xaction mysteriously reappeared. ( I was having some trouble with the column sizing but closing and opening gnucash solved that )

At some point I'll install v3.0 in a Windows 10 VM and try it again and get back with you.
Comment 3 John Ralls 2018-04-04 03:38:29 UTC
If the other register was open already then any action there that forced a refresh should have made the new transaction appear, in which case this is a duplicate of bug 794854.

If you're not willing to test further, I'll just close this as a dupe.
Comment 4 bcarr 2018-04-04 15:11:02 UTC
Hmmmm. Maybe that was it. Please close it. I'm trying to re-download v3.0 but so far in two browsers all I get is "Failed - download error". I'll try again later. Thank you.

Oops, transposition error. Bug 794584 is the right one.
