gnome-desktop (thumbnailer) leaves dozens of /tmp/gnome-desktop-thumbnailer-XXXXX directories plus oe file per directory (gnome-desktop-file-to-thumbnail.*) on the disk.

This was observed with GNOME 3.28.0 - but was supposedly already fixed in GNOME 3.26 (bug 786584) - possibly somehow regressed somewhere

An additional observation: the gnome-desktop-file-to-thumbnail seem all to be .pdf in my case and are all 0 bytes long. This might hint at the thumbnailer 'doing the right thing' and 'just be an error condition' which the user has no information on how to resolve it
