This patch fixes an issue found by Ubuntu's autopkgtest system. Adam says /etc/init/ was an upstart-ism and is no longer present in minimal Ubuntu systems.

Why not, thanks. So, gvfs-testbed works under Ubuntu, right? Good to know, because it has never worked for me on Fedora and I haven't found time to do something with it...
