GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 792483
Dock : right click on Nautilus icon should show its bookmarks
Last modified: 2018-01-14 13:36:57 UTC
Created attachment 366750 [details] Nautilus bookmarks from right click on icon in dock in Ubuntu - before 17.10 Hi, coming from there https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock/+bug/1730201 and there https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=21853368#p21853368 On Ubuntu 17.10, bookmarks - default ones like documents, videos, pictures… or manually added ones through ctrl+d - are not displayed on right click on nautilus icon in the dock. Only [ new window | remove from favorites | details ] appear. I expected all the bookmarks to be displayed on right click, like in previous Ubuntu versions. And I've just discovered this https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=657207 which seems old but related ?
What an extension does or doesn't do is up to the extension, not gnome-shell. Report the issue to dash-to-dock or its Ubuntu fork.
Mmmm ok, my mistake was to narrow it down to dash-to-dock Dock is part of the gnome shell, isn't it ? There is the same lack of fast access to folders and bookmarks in gnome-session, that is absolutely not specific to Ubuntu.
On your advice Florian : https://github.com/micheleg/dash-to-dock/issues/671
This won't happen, sorry: - desktop actions allow apps to add custom static actions to launchers, but not dynamic ones like bookmarks - we are not going to special-case some apps in gnome-shell (that is, if the user adds nautilus, poke into its bookmarks and add them to its menu) - the dash is up for removal in a future redesign[0] [0] https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME-Community/design-team/london-ux2017-experiments/tree/master/overview
