gd3 assertion failure

Please see the attachment of this error message happening in Ubunutu 17.10. Error reported from Logs application.

Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to give a stack trace from the Ubuntu reporting tools.

Also has been confirmed this error is seen in Ubuntu 18.04 with

journalctl /usr/sbin/gdm3
