The help says that there is a hint button on top right border of the screen, but there is none.

This feature has been removed back in 3.14. Help needs updating.

sorry, I though that the functionality is there and only the button is not visible, I could have set the correct specifications.

just out of curiosity, why was this feature removed? In many situations it is the only way to play correct move

I don’t know why it was removed. GNOME Mines maintainer should be able to tell us.

For now I’m assuming that this is the intended behavior. As help now reflects reality, I’m closing this bug as FIXED.

Currently  I am the maintainer of GNOME Mines, but unfortunately I can't tell you why the hint button was removed.
