Description Jonas Hahnfeld 2017-12-19 19:06:28 UTC
The removal of the xrandr plugin also removed the 'default-monitors-setup' key in 'org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.xrandr' (see https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings-daemon/commit/?id=5db4d74). This could be used as a "hack" to make a laptop suspend even with external monitors by setting the value to 'do_nothing'. My use case is that I use both the external monitor and my laptop's display and therefore want the laptop to suspend if I close the lid, I don't want to stay awake only leaving the external monitor.

I consider this kind of a regression in 3.26 and it would be great to have a (properly named) config back. This could possibly later find its way into Tweaks which currently already has an option to completely disable suspending on lid close.
