In the description there are references to X -- AFAICT the selections API works on X and Wayland, and looking at the source code there is gdkselection-wayland.c.

Having X in the description makes it sound like this API only applies to X stuff which is a bit misleading.

The api is entirely patterened on X, which is why the docs sounds like that. Patches to improve this would be welcome.
