Screen record of the error in question

After the first stroke on a canvas, the brush is stuck in straight-line drawing mode (like when pressing shift). Switching tools (from brush to airbrush) enables me to do another single stroke before being stuck in straight-line mode again. The touchpad and trackpoint do not have this issue.

gimp is version 2.8.22, running on the Cinnamon spin of Fedora release 25 on a ThinkPad x230 tablet (i.e. an older convertible with the wacom pen integrated into the display). I have attached a .gif that illustrates the error.

Setting to NEW because we confirm that this issue can happen, even with GIMP master. We had it a few days/weeks ago with the dev version. The pen was stuck as though shift was always pressed.

Also when that happened, restarting GIMP would make it be OK at first, but soon we'd get the same issue again.

It has not happened again lately. We could not find any specific trigger yet.
