Description Olivier Tilloy 2017-11-29 09:11:58 UTC
Running gnome-shell 3.26.1 on Ubuntu 17.10 (wayland).

When the system is running a CPU-intensive task (e.g. building chromium) and I start typing my password to unlock the screen, the first 2-3 characters are correctly input, but most of the subsequent keystrokes are lost for at least a second or two. This happens while the unlock dialog is being slided in, and it's very laggy.

To unlock the screen I have to wait for the unlock dialog to be fully visible, erase the characters that have already been entered, then type my password again.

I am not seeing the issue when the system is idle.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
