GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 790317
Add keyboard shortcuts to window menu
Last modified: 2017-11-14 12:41:53 UTC
Pressing Alt + Space still opens the window menu, as it did pre-GNOME Shell (and in Ubuntu Unity), but there are no longer any underlined keyboard shortcuts for the various items in the menu. For example, pressing Alt + Space and then C would close the current window, and the C in the word Close was underlined to indicate this. Alt + Space, N would minimize the window, Alt + Space, X would maximize or unmaximize the window, and Alt + Space, M would move the window. I think these keyboard shortcuts should be added to the window menu in GNOME Shell. Having the Alt + Space keyboard shortcut to open the window menu is not especially helpful if the user either has to grab their mouse or continually arrow down to the option that they want in order to use it at all. I searched for another ticket related to this but could not find one; apologies if this ends up being a duplicate of anything else. Thanks for your consideration!
