GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 789788
Sometimes drop down opens behind shell top panel under Wayland
Last modified: 2018-05-02 19:25:04 UTC
Created attachment 362778 [details] screenshot Arch Linux, GTK+ 3.22.25, Gnome-shell 3.26.1+10+gfd103ff70-1 See my screenshot.
What do you mean with sometimes? I don't have any third party themes installed, so I can't try the menu in your screenshot, but other similar (for example Windows -> Double click) doesn't show up behind the shell top panel, but is properly positioned just below it.

Gnome 3.28 has the same bug on Arch.
I can't reproduce this bug, using the same menu as in the screen shot. Can you describe when you see it?
install amount of gtk or shell themes enough to create a long drop down in Tweaks. Start Gnome Wayland session open Tweaks and maximize it window, open gtk/shell theme drop down The problem shown in my screenshot happens when I open the drop down for the first time. Note that in my screenshot I use a transparent shell theme named "VimixLight-Laptop".
