Description Alexandr 2017-10-26 14:30:01 UTC
CAPS LOCK key I have change the keyboard layout. When you change the layout automatically triggered and shift. In this case, if immediately after the change of the layout to continue to print, printing will not occur. At this time, the indicator will be displayed to change the layout.

Thanks for reporting this.
I am not sure I understand, and I am not sure what to see where in the video. This bug report isn't very useful because it doesn't describe the bug well. If you have time and can still reproduce the bug, please read https://bugzilla.gnome.org/page.cgi?id=bug-writing.html and add a more useful description to this bug.

As you seem to be using Ubuntu, have you reported this problem to Ubuntu's bug tracker to first track down if this is a GNOME problem? Please provide a link.

André,

he means that he uses CapsLock as a shortcut for switching input sources, and it takes about 2 seconds to switch to a next source. During this time a popup is shown, and no typing is possible until it goes away.

Switching to a previous source (Shift+CapsLock) works instantly.

The problem is new to 3.26.

Just noticed that the shortcuts were dubbed "Menu" and "Shift+Menu" in the control center. And the Menu key switched input sources instead of opening a context menu.

In the tweaker (KB & Mouse | Additional Layout Options | Caps Lock key behavior), it was assigned to act as an additional Menu key). Choosing "Disabled", selecting "Caps Lock" in "Switching to another layout", and restart fixed the problem for me.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
