Description anton-tsyganenko 2017-10-01 17:14:05 UTC
I use menu key to change keyboard layout. After upgrading to gnome-shell 3.26 when I press it I get a pop-up window with my layouts and it blocks input: I have to wait a few seconds until it disappear.

The problem takes place only if one-key layout switch shortcut is in use (e.g. menu, pause, etc.). Super+space and other multi-key switches work fine.

Same here. I used 'menu' key to switch layout and after upgrade it was almost impossible to use because of couple seconds delay between switching layouts.

Workaround that I found for this problem is to use Tweaks (Tweak Tool) to set key for 'Switching to another layout' instead of GNOME settings.
If 'menu' is selected there, then there is no delay.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
