Font preview is not available for some fonts (mainly Noto)
Last modified: 2021-07-05 10:58:17 UTC
Fonts 3.26 on Arch, watch the screencast please. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evnom-Vqg3M
Same problem in fonts 3.28, Arch.
bug persists with fonts 3.32 on Arch Linux.
Thanks for the report, I just pushed a fix for this problem to git master.
This bug persists with fonts 3.34 on Arch Linux.
You may need to clean up your thumbnail cache to see the fix in effect, as thumbnails may already have been generated as empty or failed. Unless you're running the flatpak, that should be in ~/.cache/thumbnails, otherwise in ~/.var/app/org.gnome.font-viewer/cache/thumbnails.
I reinstalled Arch Linux a few days ago and this bug persists with fonts 3.34 anyway.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-font-viewer/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
